Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS): CJCS is the principal military advisor to the President, the NSC, and SecDef.
The DNI is appointed by the President to serve as the principal advisor to the President, the National Security Council, and the Homeland Security Council for intelligence matters related to national security.
SecDef is a member of the National Security Council (NSC), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), and serves as an advisor to the NSC.
